Learn how your organization can improve patient care, reduce cost, and manage risk for several types of surgery such as spinal surgery, weight loss surgery, transplantation, plastic surgery, and gender confirmation surgery.

  • Unrealistic surgery expectations
  • Negative psychosocial concerns

Fees & Insurance

Self-Pay

  • If you have high-deductible health insurance, are uninsured, or don’t want a bureaucratic insurance company making decisions about your treatment, then self-pay is a great option for you. Many people pay directly for their care and find that this is a better fit than conventional health insurance.
  • Be sure to use your flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). The cost of seeing a psychologist is eligible for reimbursement.

Insurance

  • I am an out-of-network provider and I do not participate on any insurance panels.
  • Many insurance companies provide out-of-network benefits. You may be able to use your benefits to reimburse a significant portion of the cost of treatment.
  • If you are considering using your insurance, please book a phone consultation appointment, send me a message, or call me at 813-591-3794 to learn how the four steps below may cover a significant portion of the cost of treatment.
Step 1: Contact your Insurance Company.
  • Every insurance plan is different, some plans may contain exclusions, and some plans may require pre-authorization.
Step 2: Pay for each individual session out-of-pocket on the day the service is provided.
  • I will provide you with a Superbill, which is an itemized form or reciept used by healthcare providers to document rendered services.
  • Be sure to use your flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or health reimbursement arrangement (HRA). The cost of seeing a psychologist is eligible for reimbursement.
  • You will accept reimbursement directly from your insurance company.
Step 3: Submit your Superbill directly to your insurance company.
  • Your insurance company may request minor changes to the Superbill and I am happy to accommodate these minor requests.
Step 4: Make copies and track all of your claims.
  • Generally speaking, all claims are usually paid or denied within 30 days of submission.
